Just Not Right
I don't know if I've missed this because we don't have TV, or if it's just one of those special little hidden things that pop up amidst movie trailers, but I sat and laughed my little booty off Sunday afternoon when I saw this video:

The Coolest Thing In The World
Mr. Honey and I went to the movies today. And do you know what I had from the concession stand?
A milkshake!
In all my life, this is the first time I've ever had a milkshake at a movie theater. In fact, I didn't even know it was possible. We were driving to the theater and I told Mr. Honey that if I could get anything in the world from the concession stand, I'd want a milkshake. But then, since I figured it wouldn't be an option, I didn't even think about what flavor of milkshake I'd want. I just left it in my own little dream world.
So what did I see as soon as we walked in the door to buy our tickets?
A Ben & Jerry's!
So I had a cookies and cream milkshake during the Bourne Ultimatum (and 30 minutes worth of previews), and I was in heaven. I love my new favorite movie theater.Labels: Life's little luxuries, movies

This is August?!?!?!
For the first time in almost 6 years, Mr. Honey and I sat outside in August at our place of residence, and we actually got a little chilly instead of nearly sweating to death just by thinking of stepping outside.
In August!!
I love my new home. :)
Anyway, we've moved, we're still getting settled, and the kitty cats are finally content after weeks of knowing something wasn't quite right in their world. I should be back regularly sometime soon. :)
Happy August!Labels: Life's little luxuries, Mother Nature, moving, Mr. Honey

I am not crazy
This morning, Mr. Honey and I were in our bedroom with our cats and a cold glass bottle of ginger ale. We weren't doing anything in particular. I think Mr. Honey was petting the cats and I was watching, because there was really no need for me to do anything else. All of a sudden, Mr. Honey turned to me and said, "Was that your ginger ale making noise?" And I said, "Yes it was."
See! It's not just me! Mr. Honey hears the voices in the water bottles (and ginger ale bottles) too!
He refuses to admit the bottle was actually talking, though. He thinks it was just letting off steam, quite literally. I think he just didn't listen closely enough.
I'm just about outta here. Tomorrow morning I'll pick up Mini-me (aka my youngest sister aka Bubbles) at the airport and the two of us will begin a grand adventure to my new house. Woo-hoo!Labels: moving, Mr. Honey, talking water bottles

Lessons in Moving
1. Sneezing is an excellent abdominal workout. Sneezing happens when you tear your house apart to put it all in boxes. Abs of steel, baby, abs of steel. (Probably a sinus infection eventually too, but the abs of steel are much more impressive.)
2. Mr. Honey has this freakishly cool talent he likes to call "tetris-fu" (and he thinks he can credit Tee Morris with the phrase). Mr. Honey can look at a crapload of stuff and make it all fit inside a space that I would've sworn was too small to fit said crapload of stuff, and then have room left over.
3. Let the professionals pack your kitchen. Time for one professional packer to pack a kitchen: 5 hours. Time for 3 other professional packers to pack up 3 bedrooms plus a living room, dining room, bathroom, laundry room, coat closet, and two outdoor storage sheds: 4 hours. Time for Honey and Mr. Honey to do it all themselves: Ha! Like we're stupid enough to find out! (Nor would we like to price the attorney fees for the inevitable marital problems that could result.)
4. Hide the internet modem, wireless router, and laptop computers from the movers, so you can still plug in to the web once you're sitting around your house with nothing entertaining to do, since everything else has been packed and sealed in boxes that won't be picked up for another 3 days. Might want to hide a couple books, too.
5. Make friends with people who like to cook you dinner. Just trust me on this one.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll see you Monday from my new home, once my new network is all hooked up.
